Title: failed logon freezes computer
Post by: isidore on December 10, 2011, 04:45:30 PM
I have a Dell laptop running Windows 7.   there is a website which I use frequently and being a subscriber I log on to download education data; lately my logon fails and my screen freezes.  This does not happen with other sites or when I log on to this site from another computer.  I have installed latest Windows 7 updates, and Java updates; any suggestions?

Welcome to ComputerHope, isidore! This is a Java site, correct? Try another browser. For instance: if you are using Internet Explorer, try Firefox. If you are using Firefox, try Internet Explorer or Chrome.

Thanks for the reply Thomas - I tried another browser but it didn't solve the problem .   :-[ :-[ :-[   Appreciate the help though.

Is it because you don't remember your password, or does it lock up the browser even when your login information is correct?

Can you check your problem on another working PC with internet connection?

to Quantos and Jason2074 -

I have got through on another computer, using the usual logon details; and I have even got a reply from the site by clicking the 'forgot your password? button in case I was in error.  It does seem that either my laptop isn't transmitting, or isn't receiving; getting stuck halfway through a communication.

Which means you are getting through the site but completely stuck on sudden freeze? Do other application or computer freezes too? Did you also try reinstalling Flash player or use another browser?
