Title: T3265
Post by: ppcanning on July 05, 2004, 04:04:52 PM
Last week I purchased an Emachine Desktop online.
It was advertised as:

eMachines T3265
AMD Athlon XP 3200+ 2.2GHz, 512MB DDRAM, 160GB Hard Drive, DVD+/-RW combo drive, 10/100 NIC, 56K Modem, NVIDIA GeForce4 , 8-in-1 reader, Windows® XP

Unfortunately when I checked the "System Properties" Dialog Box, the following info is given:

eMachines
T3265
AMD Athlon(tm)XP 2500+
1.84 Ghz
448 MB Ram

It seems the processor is slower and the ram is less than was advertised. Is it possible that Windows misread the hardware or have I been SCAMMED?

I have already spent hours transferring files from my old computer. Is it worth sending the new computer back?

It is possible that your Emachine is a new "older" box that has a AMD Athalon XP 2500 + 1.8 GHz ....
It does have 512 of Ram .....
How big is the H drive?

Its possible that the price you paid will reflect the differance......HOWEVER if you bought and paid for a XP 3200 + 2.2GHz ......Take it back and have them transfer your files to the proper machine .......(it could be a honest mistake)

let us know how you make out.

Lowering your System bus rate might result in a slower processor being displayed than you actually have installed. This could be due to the default settings.

This can be set in your BIOS.
