Title: pics, posts, news pictures show up blank on my macbook

on my macbook,  on facebook my friends pictures and posts show up with a blank box, the same thing with yahoo news, even craigslist. the lettering is fine but any pictures show up as a blank box. What could this be? and what can I do to fix the problem?

Are you using OS X on your Mac book? Did this just happen recently? What browser are you using?
