Title: Acer laptop wont switch on - lights up

Hi. May I ask for some advice please. I have  a Acer 5315 2.0ghz. Now when i plug in the charging light illuminates. I switch on, green power light comes on and I hear the fans run however after 3 seconds it stops but green power light still illuminated. Nothing at all appears on screen no flickering. Any idea please.  My guess is the board but sort of hoping it isn't.

This appears to be a laptop, so you could try plugging it in without the battery.

Hi Sorry yes this is a laptop. Ok just tried that but the problem still remains. Thanks anyway
