So far, I can't even install it.

I'm a big fan of Dolphin Browser on portable devices. You might want to give it a try.

Dolphin just kept getting worse and worse for me. Maxthon saved the day.

Has anyone tried to use the portable version of FireFox on the Droid yet ? ?
I seem to remember someone telling me it worked...

Don't have a Droid so i can't test it here...

No.

My question is though, how would you install it?

I'm not sure why Mozilla is taking so long on the Tablet version. Seems like that would be a priority.

Unfortunately, Firefox for mobile does not support tablets (such as the Xoom) yet. The developers are actively working on adding tablet support. You can help test an Aurora build (https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms/Android#Download_Aurora) but you may encounter stability issues, among other issues. It should not be considered a replacement for your primary browser.

You may need to allow installation of non-Market apps.

I might check out the Aurora build. Then again I might not...

I have been checking out the Firefox Tablet (beta) version and it's got my attention. I can't say I'm ready to move away from Maxthon but the FF tablet version is coming along nicely. It may come down to what add ons will be developed. So far there are only a few.

Hi Folks

Are you able to update to newer droid os? or is your device's firmware / chip will not take it?

I have a new Samsung tablet 7.0 with ICS droid OS and thankfully Firefox is available and runs great on it. My self FF runs a lot better than the browser that it came with.

I was able to download it thru the droid app store.

Have a good one, Mike

I'm currently part of the Motorola XOOM soak test so am running Jelly Bean. Buttery smooth.

While Google Chrome or the stock browser work best for some things and Firefox is coming along nicely... Maxthon HD on my tablet and Maxthon mobile on the phone is what works best for me so far.
