Post by: Jathomas on September 13, 2012, 01:49:39 PM
Hello, i have a pretty big problem with my sony vaio laptop (more details availible upon request) every now and then, wether im oon youtube minecraft TF2 or just skype, it can randomly go fuzzy green freeze for a second then go black and i can either get a bluescreen problem and it restarts or what it was doing before it started bluescreening which was to just stay on a black screen where the prossecor is still working (getting sound) however the graphics do not recover.
I need this to work because i have just started college and i need it for work, i have TF2 events this weekend and i own a minecraft server i need to tend to. i am able to play these things but as i said it is random, usually i think when my computer is doing lots of stuff, stuff it can usually take really easilly... but here is one of the error reports if you need it (made red):

Download BlueScreenView:
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html
unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe to run the program.
when scanning is done, go to EDIT - Select All
Go to FILE - SAVE Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all of the content, and paste it into your next reply

What happens when you turn it on? How far does it get? (Nothing, BIOS, Windows, etc.)

If you get into Windows, I would recommend that you download SpeedFan and check your temperatures, it could be overheating. Have you tried safe mode?

Okay it isnt the fan, i can tell that by hand. When i turn it on this happens:

Lines up and down the screen, generally messed up logos and then it asks me to launch normally or run startup repair, by running repair it goes through that process and shuts down, this doesnt affect the next starup and if i choose to run normally it goes to a screen with blue lines running down the screen, this is all. I cannot access windows anymore.

To rule out another possible culprit DLoad and run MemTest...let it run 1 hour minimum...
Any errors at all and you have a bad stik of RAM.

Yes...follow the Guide at the MemTest for building the bootable CD...
Then on the laptop enter Setup (BIOS ) and set the CD as 1st boot device...
Insert the CD you created and re-boot.
