Title: Computer turns on for a second only and then loops.
Post by: ARK on October 08, 2012, 04:32:24 PM
Desktop PC (Compaq Presario S6000NX) turns on for a split second (lights, fans spin, etc.) but then shuts off right after, and then turns back on, shuts off, etc. in a continuous loop. Before this, the PC was working just fine, I take the case off and notice the Floppy Drive is not connected to the power supply (only the cable was connected to the motherboard, I was getting a Floppy Drive error during POST so I decided to have a look inside) so I connect the power cable and attempt to turn the PC back on and I get this looping problem. I disconnected the power from the drive but I'm still left with this problem.  :(

Either your motherboard or power supply needs replacement. Try swapping out the power supply and see if that fixes it. Any local computer shop should be able to sell you a compatible one.
