Title: ASUS Xonar DX - Issue: Wave/Mix Low Volume with Echo effect
Post by: Hazel on January 10, 2013, 04:06:08 AM
Hello

I have recently bought a Xonar DX soundcard and there is something awkward going on when I record from "Wave" or "Stereo Mix":

Recording Volume is set to 100% but the sound is very low in comparison to "Speakers".
When recording wave or stereo mix there is an echo effect which i haven't found a way to turn off.

I have tried drivers from cd, latest and previous version without result.

I'm running latest driver on Win7 x64 with an analouge 5.1 surround system and discovered this when i tried to use Fraps (http://fraps.com) to record a video.

What to do?
Thanks in advance.

Update: I have tried something named ASUS XONAR Unified Drivers 1.64

It did fix the problems above, but for some reason DirectSound is somehow set to Stereo and this really ruins the experience of many games and even videos on youtube/flash and windows media player.

I have reinstalled and upgraded the drivers in pretty much every possible way I could think of and fiddled with every setting i though might make a difference

What to do now?

Card was sent on RMA because the first issue came back.

Got another Xonar DX now and it actually does what it's supposed to.

Problems Solved.
