Title: Boot message can't find master drive?
Post by: fireball53 on July 18, 2004, 03:47:54 AM
Get this message when trying to boot up the computer which then will not go any further. Anybody any ideas what is going on here?

Did you recently install a new hard drive without setting either the jumper to cable select and master in BIOS or to Master on hard disk?

Well it is actually a computer I was having a look at for someone else that was not working. They did not have a boot disk so they asked me for assistance and that is the message that came up. As far as I know there had been no hardware changes to the computer so I was wondering if the hard drive has had it.

I suggest you check the BIOS settings to see if the harddrive is properly configured. Also check the jumpers on the hard drive to be sure, if you have not yet done so.
