Title: Mac drive clone by using Windows
Post by: seanpark22 on December 14, 2013, 02:52:15 PM
Does anyone have idea about if I can clone an external hard drive (Mac based) into another external hard drive (new) by installing some software (like easeus etc.) on a Windows based laptop.

Never done it. But a sector by sector clone might do the job.

Quote
A sector by sector clone ensures that destination hard disk/partition is exactly the same as source hard disk/partition. It will clone all the sectors if the option is checked, even if the sector is blank or it is a logically bad sector. As a result, the target will be equal in size to the disk being cloned after the process. You can find the option in the step to choose destination hard disk/partition both in Disk clone or Partition clone wizard
I have used Todo Backup and recommend it. But I don't kn ow if it can clone a Mac disc.

It's same one as I wrote in my post. Anyway, it's not possible with this one at least. I wrote to these guys and the answer isn't affirmative. Hard luck!

Still searching for a solution. Someone suggested me 'Stellar Drive Clone', so going to give it try today.

Hi

You could install a trail copy of MacDrive 8. This will allow you to work with mac format disks in windows. Then you can use copy and paste .
