What's the procedure to check site availability? ???

Website availability?  ???  Do you mean to see if a domain name/adress is already taken, or what? You need to give us more information for us to give you an accurate answer  :)

Thanks for your prompt response.

I mean, to find out whether a specific website exists.

I've gone to sites that keep me waiting and waiting and, at times,  I may get a message saying "xxxxx could not be found".  At one time I was looking for something like, say, "CDcovers.cc" and I asked you about not finding it and you responded that it did not exist.  How did you find out?

Ehm, how about typing in the adress in your browser and seeing if it works?  :'(
