Title: Office Price List - Excel with security?

I have to set up a universal price list for my office, which cannot be easily modified without permission. It will be a relatively simple price list, but there's going to be around ten to twenty thousand items over a dozen brands.

I'm thinking of using the office's Dropbox account as a distribution channel.

Is there a better way to do this? Or will this work fine?

We have lots in our office, we have them as locked Excel spreadsheets kept on a server. This works fine for staff on site. Is remote access definitely required?
