I've just started using wireless again after being on wired for a long time and I am having some severe ping troubles.
Previous to being on wired and using wireless I had no issues but now coming back to it something is wrong.
Issue:
Ping spikes of over 1000ms to my router at random intervals
Pinging to my router:

Attempted Solutions:
Reinstalled Drivers
Trying different Wifi settings
Switching between 2 and 5 GHz bands
Factory Resetting Router
Installing WLAN Optimizer
Disconnecting all other wireless devices from the network
Virus/Malware scan
So far none of the above have worked
OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit
My NIC is as http://www.asus.com/uk/Networking/PCEAC68/ , I spent a lot of money on it to make sure I would have no wireless issues but apparently that is not the case.
Although the average ping is higher I don't actually get these incredible spikes on my phone which leads me to believe it's on my computer's end.
Any help would be appreciated

I have just tried using a connection analyser to see if anything was happening network-wise on my PC during the spikes but there was nothing noticeable at all. I am extremely lost on this one.
