Title: drivers for graphics card
Post by: dgreen on August 23, 2015, 12:59:07 AM
My HDD packed up on my HP G56 laptop.
I put a new one in and installed Windows 7 home.
The graphics card was detected as a standard VGA and the drivers were installed automatically as this.
How can I install the correct drivers for the graphic card. I don't know what card is in the laptop. Is there a way of finding this out without opening up the laptop?

Look in Device Manager - Display Adapter

You should always obtain drivers for your laptop from the laptop's web site (HP in your case)

Don't you still have the Driver CD that shipped with the laptop ? ?
If so re-install ALL drivers...chipset drivers 1st.

If you don't have the disc travel to the manuf. site...enter your Model # and OS...and grab them all.
