Title: Need Help With Wi-Fi Driver for Gateway LT20 (Windows 7)
Post by: deadbird101 on October 08, 2015, 12:41:08 AM
I am having trouble finding a Wi-Fi driver for my Gatway LT20 Netboook. I checked the Gateway website for the driver, but Gateway doesn't have any drivers for windows 7.  This is a fresh installation of Windows 7 Service Pack 1 Starter Edition. I tried using Windows Update, but it constatlly says "checking for updates" but not of the updates come up.

Note: I know its not my version of windows that is causing issues with Windows Update. I have used this version on an older desktop that I have that works perfectly fine.

Can you please help me?

Below is the website for the Gateway drivers and support page.

Where did you buy that model?
Did you go to this site?
https://panam.gateway.com/product/default.aspx?modelId=2338

Here is a User Guide.

For a clean install of a generic Windows 7, you should use all the drivers available. Do not assume that the chip driver is not needed for the wireless. That might not be the case.
Also, r three or four Wireless LAN drivers are listed.

Thank you so much for the link you provided, it had the newest version of the Wi-Fi driver. And although it was ment for XP. I was able to go into device manager install the driver that way. Although the executable file would finish the installation, the device was still going unrecognized after using the executable installation. Where did you find that Gateway website? I don't understand why the website you linked to me too, would have a more recent version of the driver, as compared to the official gateway website?

panam.gateway.com
It is the gateway site. But a different section. I used kind of selective searching in Google to find the best match. But your results may vary a lot. Google wants  to better guess and sometimes it works.

Gateway does no explain way the panam section has better help.

Glad it worked. I was thinking you would have to use compatibility mode. :)

EDIT: Others also use the alternative gateway site.
