Title: New Bug In Intel Skylake CPU
Post by: Geek-9pm on January 12, 2016, 04:47:27 PM
Hot news. The Intel Skylake has a bug.

This is the latest, greatest thing Intel has been promoting. Only recently have some developers got samples. Here is what they say...
How to test  for the Skylake bug (http://www.pcworld.com/article/3021023/hardware/how-to-test-your-pc-for-the-skylake-bug.html)

Intel says:
Intel confirms bug with Skylake CPUs (http://www.slashgear.com/intel-confirms-bug-with-skylake-cpus-12422788/)

So, can I get one for free?  :)

It's a bug in the microcode, so it can be patched with an update relatively easily. Should be a lot cheaper than replacing the Pentium FDIV chips.

As far as I'm aware the fix is being integrated into BIOS updates.
