Title: Help!! cant get cd drives to work
Post by: 1288 on November 22, 2005, 09:57:16 AM
I replaced my power supply and now i cant get either one of my cd drives to read cd's. if i plug them both in, i get an error; physical memory dump; but if i leave the one out, the computer runs, but without the one cd drive i left plugged in working. It has powere and will open and close and i can hear it start to spin the cd's, but will not play on the computer. When i go to access the drive it is not there. i Have no idea what is wrong and would appreciate any help.

Two things.

Your power supply should be 400Watts or more.

Second, by disconnecting the one cd-rom drive, you did   upset the master/slave relationship on the cable. Try disconnecting the other and reconnecting power to the other. This device would be available.
