A litle quick with that submit button aren't you? Give it a moment to transmit the data! ;)

sry and thx guys ..it is the dial up slowness...l ;D

In fairness, I had this problem a couple of times when I first started here. This forum can be a little slow to respond after the submit button is pressed, and I remember assuming I had timed out. So I resubmitted and voila, double post.

ok guys thanks but i got one more question ...i will try to post it once this time ... ;D
do i have to won a network adaptor in order to have an Ethernet address??am sking that because a friend of
mine who doesn't have a netwrok adaptor has his Ethernet address as zeros only ??
thanks
-
Only if a nic is installed. in the pc .....and its linked to a live internet server/?
-
i don't know merlin but i don't have to be connected to the internet in order to the Ethernet address??
-
You need to have a NIC to even have an address.
-
And you need to connect to a DHCP server or put in an address as a static address. Unless you're running DHCP on a computer at home then you need the internet for an address.
Oh and btw, if you are running DHCP at home for some reason, don't use it on the internet, your ISP won't like that very much.
