If you are using a Windows 7 as a ticket to a free install, you have until July 29.
After July 29 the free upgrade will expire. Activate before the exoneration.
My thought is this: Even if you do not link Windows 10, go ahead and install your Windows 7 to a spare hard drive and put the Windows 10 free upgrade on it and activate it before July 29. You do have an old hard drive in your stuff?
