Get the latest updates for Chrome for starters...
Supposedly it addresses the heavy memory usage.

Yes, Firefox.   ;D

Seriously, my experience the two browsers indicates Firefox to be much better in this regard. I have Firefox open on my Lenovo desktop PC with 93 tabs open and, if I  open Task Manager and pause a few seconds, CPU usage will drop below 10%, with Firefox tending to account for about half of that usage.  Of course, this varies depending on what websites are open.  Some websites are bloated with code, likely some poorly optimized code, and can consume an inordinate amount of CPU and browser tasking.

I do use Chrome on my Android tablet and smartphone since it is the default browser that came on them.  It seems to work fine on them but I never have anywhere near 90+ tabs open on those devices.

The last version of Chrome lasted less than 2 days on my PC...

There are alternatives as mentioned...
