Title: Help with videos playing in black and white.
Post by: kylwsmn on February 20, 2017, 01:28:18 PM
So I'm unsure which sub forum to put this in because I'm not sure what is causing this problem. Basically some videos I watch are played not in color, but in some weird almost completely black and white. The video still may have some very faint color like a very faint yellow or blue. This happens on various websites such as youtube or others, and it happens on all browsers.

I'm running Windows 10. I'm not very tech savvy so I may need my hand held a little bit through this  ;D

Thank you!

1) Does it only occur with videos you watch on the web or does it also happen with videos on your computer?

2) Did this just start or has it always been this way? If the former, what is new or different since the last time everything worked properly (ie, new hw, new sw, virus, error, etc)?

It actually does occur with non-web videos which I didn't realize till you asked. It just started. I'm not sure whats different. The only thing I can see that happened recently is that I uninstalled and then re-installed origin. Although for the most part I don't use or make changes to the computer that much so I'm not sure what happened.

I agree with patio. Let's try uninstalling Origin and see what happens.

I uninstalled it and restarted my computer. No change.

Do you have a restore point that will take you back to before the problem arose?

I'm going to quickly back up my images and videos and then go back to a restore point and see if that helps.

I dont have a restore point early enough. The problem is not fixed.

Assuming origin did not cause the problem (and that seems awfully coincidental), it might be the display adapter.

Any yellow or red symbols in Device Manager?
