I have a dell dimension 4500 with 128mB of RAM. I was wanting to add an additional - 512MB PC2100 DDR 266MHz in the spare slot. Still not much but i am sure it will help my chugger..
I have read and tried to familiarise myself with RAM speed, MHz etc. I went to a local computer store to by the RAM described above but they did not have any and the guy said just buy PC2700/333MHZ as it will work fine and just match the lower speed of the original stick. I was skeptical and thought i would check...... thx

Go to www.crucial.com and input the model number. You will see exactly what you need. All RAM is not equeal, and speed is not the only variable. Some Dell's are very particular.
