Title: Lost password, lost e-mail, no help.
Post by: Geek-9pm on July 26, 2017, 11:43:48 AM
Has this ever happened to you?
• You lost a password to an account.
• You lost an e-mail account.
• What records you have are not right.
• There is no telephone support.
Yes, it is my own fault. I have myself to blame.
Now, is there some way I can get control again of the account that I was had?
Probably not. But I thought I would ask.
Why is this important? Well, it depends on the content of the account. Have you ever stored information somewhere and not kept a backup? Then you find you have lost control of the account that has your stuff?

Yeah, it is my own fault. But I just though I would ask.

The account I lost is:
geek9pm.word press.com

It is not a commercial account. It was a free account for personal use.

There is a "Lost your password?" link when you go to log-in. If you lost the password to the E-mail address and didn't set up a recovery method then I'm not aware of anyway you can get in.

I write down all my passwords, since I generate them for new accounts. That comes with it's own risks too, but I prefer that to using using only the few passwords I can memorize. It's helped as a few times one of those passwords I memorized was part of a compromise and I found innumerable attempts to login to various other accounts that were related to it (eg same username) with that same password which were unsuccessful, including the root password of my VPS.

I give up.
The amount of effort needed to resolve this is not worthwhile.
Thanks for your response.
