I have tried getting into the Apple forum to ask this question but for some reason, all my devices cant seem to connect me, so I'll ask here. I recently copied my library from a portable drive to mu new win10 pc from a win7 pc. Many but not all the songs are not pointing to the right song, so I think I'm going to listen to a Rolling Stones song and a Tom Petty songs comes on instead. The library got mangled somehow, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

when moving my iTunes library to a new Pc, this is my method.
only copy across the iTunes Media folder to the same location on the new PC.
then in iTunes, File, Add folder to library, browse to your iTunes Media folder, select it and click Select Folder.
but with yours being the current mess it is, I would wipe the contents and start from scratch.
and as a safety tip, backup that folder first!

Thanks. It seems that my library has stabilized, that is the files point to the correct songs. I have a "double click" button on my mouse that I use and I would just click it to start a song and that is what produced the song error. If I use my left button for clicking twice it opens the right song. Must be faulty mouse? Do you know about the "automatically add to Itunes" folder. On my win 7 machine I dragged it on to my desktop and added files that way. This no longer works any idea how to remedy this?
Again
thanks for your help

no, I don't use any 'automatic update' features and in all my years of using iTunes, that folder has never contained anything worthy of transferring to new PC's.
