Title: help- sound plays too fast
Post by: Reece on December 18, 2005, 12:14:35 PM
I just reinstalled windows on my computer and now the sound plays at a really fast speed. My MP3s sound like they are sung by the chipmunks. It appears that the correct sound card drivers are installed. Can anyone help?

Not without knowing what the sound card is.

Can you get the driver from the motherboard maker's web site (I'm assuming Intel)?

AC97 is integrated sound. You should have the CD for your M.B. and the drivers will be on that CD

I just tried twice, and the installation failed both times.

I mean, I tried to install it from the CD twice. I went to Intel's site and they said that they didn't supply drivers for the AC97 cards.
I've been trying to use drivers from driverguide.com and other sites, but can't get any of them to work.

hey, thanks for your help- I found the drivers on the intel motherboard drivers section, as opposed to the sound card drivers section. It's all working now.
