Title: Newbie Saying Hi!
Post by: FazzaGBR on December 20, 2018, 02:06:58 AM
I've just joined the forum so thought I'd create a thread simply to say hi, so, Hi!

I've recently got a couple of Vintage Laptops based on the Intel 486 CPU so having fun getting them up and running.  They currently have OS's on them but missing files etc. so getting errors when you load Windows etc. so time for a fresh install from floppy disk.

Good luck!
I have a broken i386. (The original enclosure, the mobo is fine.) And it is about the size of an old VCR.   How big is the 486?

Hi and welcome

If you are getting errors loading windows first check the date and time are set correctly.
Then check the hard drives with a program disk like this http://hddguru.com/software/2005.10.02-MHDD/
This program will help diagnose the condition of the hard drives.
