Hi!
We all know that Visual Studio 6 can be successfully installed on 64-bit Windows 10.
Is possible to do with Visual Studio 4?
Q has reason and my purpose - there's possible to compile 16-bit applications.
I'm using also Visual Basic for DOS and successfully compile and test any application, of course 16-bit.
Thank you for help.

No.

As an aside- The first version of Visual Studio was Visual Studio 97, or 5.0. Before that, Visual Basic, C++, etc were separate products and not part of a suite.
Presumably, though you are talking about Visual C++ 4.x.
The answer is no. Aside from not installing, the ability to compile to 16-bit is something that was provided by bundling the product with the 16-bit Visual C++ 1.52, which of course does not run on 64-bit Windows.
For Visual Basic 4.0, the 16-bit version compiled 16-bit applications, and the 32-bit version compiled 32-bit applications.

Ditto.

I didn't. Or did I? Google probably has the answer readily available, which I guess means, I readily have that knowledge available, does that mean it is my knowledge?

Shandy,
You say you are a new.
You should pass up Visual Studio 4 because it is not up to date and may cause you trouble. If you have Windows 10, then get a recent version of Visual studio that works well with Widows 10. For personal and educational usage it is free.
Search 'Free version of Visual Studio' and find it.

There are free tutorials available.

Thanks Geek, but I'm not interested in VS, are you confusing me with the OP maybe?
I was just making a horrendously bad joke is all.

Pssh everybody knows you can install VS6 on Windows 10. That is one of the questions asked before you are given a work visa to leave the birth canal.

Ahhhhh, makes total sense now.
I was born via caesarean section (Googled the spelling) into a family of illegal immigrants.

Probably for the best. Being deported back into the womb is unpleasant for all involved.

Genius. ;D

If a software is not installable natively on windows 10 but is installable thru a virtual machine, does that count as still being installed on windows 10? :P

Step aside into the interrogation womb!
