Title: Local Area Connection 2 Status
Post by: silkie on January 06, 2006, 06:06:17 PM
A couple of days ago I rather stupidly started to uninstall BT Modem program, not realising that this was the ISP (AOL) Broadband modem.  I woke up and cancelled the process about halfway through at the point where the modem needed unplugging.  I then started reinstalling AOL with their disk, etc,  and was a bit surprised when connection was made without going through the whole procedure.  Things now all ok but now I keep getting notice "Local Area Connection 2 Status- Limited or no connectivity" as I boot up.  I cant detect any difference in use - do I need to do anything?

Thanks.

1. Double-click on the Local Area Connection icon in the system tray and the Network Connections window will appear.
2. Double-click on the Local Area Connection icon in the Network Connections window, and the Local Area Connection Properties window will appear.
3. On the General Tab, uncheck Notify me when this connection has limited or no connectivity.

Or check this:

Problem solved - thanks for info Peccavi - also the two websites.  They look useful references.

It seems to have been connected to XP SP2 but I've had SP2 for some time and I wonder if the setting could have reverted to a default when I mucked about with the BT Modem.
