Title: HP Compaq Elite 8300
Post by: SuperDave on July 30, 2020, 07:34:35 PM
Hi everyone. I'm trying to repair a friend's HP computer and I'm running out of solutions. I'm hoping someone here can give some suggestions. I'm getting BSOD's and ran BSOD screenview which indicates ntoskrnl as the problem. Since this computer was upgraded to Win 10 from 7 I can't find updated drivers on the HP site. I tired a Clean start but it still crashes. It works ok in Safe mode with Networking but I can't get any updates. I'm open to any and all suggestions.

What about making up a Windows 7 drive  load the drivers and test. If it works ok then do the upgrade to Windows 10.
As there is no drivers after Windows 8 it maybe better to find another computer which supports Windows 10.  Like A Prodesk 600.
The reason these computers are being re cycled is the limited Windows 10 support.

I think I've found the problem. I remove one of the 4gb Ram chips and it's been running all evening. I was able to do the Windows updates. I will try switching Ram sticks tomorrow to see if that actually the problem.
