Title: DVD works, but not audio CD's and CD-Roms

Hello all,

I have a compaq presario 900 notebook with windows xp now this is the problem here... I can view DVD's most of the time but audio cd's and cd-roms don't work.  I have looked through a lot of the threads on here with similar problems and found that I should go to the device manager and uninstall the dvd/cd-rom and restart the computer.  I did all of that and the computer found new hardware and now nothing is playing...help please. :-[

So you uninstalled, and then let Windows Automatically reinstall? You probably need more updated drivers than that... Go to the drive manufacturer's website for updated drivers.
