Title: AOL or not AOL?
Post by: silkie on February 07, 2006, 06:03:05 PM
I will soon be coming to the end of my first year's contract with AOL.
I have their Silver service - 512Kbps and they promise double speed soon.
I am what I suppose is an ordinary PC user; internet mostly, a couple of games, and  email, etc.
While I have no real complaints with AOL, I wonder what other members might suggest.

(Windows XP - AVG)

I'm guessing you are using a broadband connection? How much do you pay per month?

I don't know if you have Verizon in your area? I have Verizon DSL, and it's great! Depending on your plan, it's a good price. Go to http://www.verizon.com , and find out if you can get it.

I checked Verizon for UK availabilityand it's no go - in fact there is some sort of dispute going on which has led to Verizon blocking European emails!

Thanks anyway.

AOL is quite effective for end-user who just going to surf the net and download.
Even i use it but the only problem is they use quite alot of space and to connect you have to start the program ( really annoying )
Good things is i been surfing and downloading for quite a long time and last year to now i havent had no problem at all with AOL 9.0
