Title: cannot share folders btw XP machines
Post by: stumble on February 14, 2006, 07:03:32 PM
This just recently developed - before this afternoon I shared files flawlessly.

Tonight I downloaded a song with one computer that had no speakers so I tried to transfer it by file sharing to another machine that has speakers.  In fact, I tried 3 different computers.  Each time I get a message called Error copying File or Folder and the message says:

Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.

As far as I can tell, it is not in use, and the disks on all 3 machines are not full, or even close to being full.

Why can't I share files tonight when I've been sharing just fine before this afternoon?

Unshare the folder and then reshare.
This way open files will be lost.

Check in your comp whether you have anything open for that.
