Title: What is up with PCI extended?
Post by: Roy on August 15, 2004, 11:37:55 AM
Recently while i was reading through one of Dell's magazines, i came across something called the PCI extended, what is it? Is this going to be the new generation for graphics cards as well. I heard that this is supposed to be faster than AGP 8x. And are there any cards out that can support this feature of PCIe?

I believe what you are referring to is called "PCI Express"

Nvidia has a special range of cards that can be connected together using this PCI Express technology.

I suggest your view the Nvidia website for more details.

yea, thanks, i was doing that and yea i meant PCI express, i keep doing that  ::)

But i guess me building a new system without PCIe would be useless considering that all new cards will most likely be using this new feature. I will just have to get a board with this.
