Hello everyone, my computer has been lagging notably for the last year or so. I can no longer play games online because it lags too much. I thought it could be a virus to I performed a factory reset with no luck at all. I also hear it making noises like it is struggling sometimes, not the beeping that happens when your PC notifies you that there is hard drive failure, but the hardrive itself grinding against something (if that makes any sense even). It is holding me back now then ever because I cannot train as a competitive gamer, please help! I have an HP Compaq pro 6200 SFF PC am using windows 10 pro.

I used hard disk sentinel to scan my har drive and it says it's all perfect. What now?

Are you certain the "grinding" noise is from the HD? If so, replace it.

Also try reinstalling NBoard drivers...

digiman,
Are you meaning the hard drive or the whole computer as meaning the Hard drive. if you are meaning the computer it self, then it could be either the CPU or power supply fan. If the CPU fan isn't spinning fast enough then the computer will be trotting ( reducing the speed) to keep the temperature at a safe level. If not the CPU fan then could be the power supply fan . If it is the power supply fan then take it to a computer tech to either replace the power supply or the fan.

My computer started lagging and freezing so I scanned the hard drive and it came back that the drive was healthy. A week later they couldn't even an image of the drive so I had to change to a SSD .
