Title: Networking
Post by: Peccavi on February 25, 2006, 03:37:56 PM
How can I make two computers make "see" each other if I have only one network adapter installed on one of the machines and computers have different IP classes (like A-192.168.1.1 and B-80.44.155.1)? Both have W2K prof installed.

Why do they have different IP blocks? Are the subnets the same? Are the workgroups/domains the same?

Quite.  You either need to change one IP address to match the subnet of the other PC, or use a bridge/gateway between the two (which would be overkill).

It was the question asked me during an interview. I said the gateway variant but they assumed there's no gateway. Can you please elaborate the second option?
