i created a floppy bootable disk and when i want to restart and setup it it says A:> something and it waits until i type something!I know that i need to type format a:/s but it says bad command name something,what am i doing wrong???help please!!!

if you are trying to transfer your files from the boot floppy to the hard drive the command at the a:\>sys c:

You have me a little confused with what you've written.

You say that you've already created a bootable floppy.  Insert that floppy into floppy drive A: and boot the system.  It should then display a command prompt   A:>  which is its way of asking what command you'd like to execute next.  So yes, it's going to wait for you to give it a command.

You create a bootable floppy from a DOS environment or from a DOS window by typing the command
FORMAT A: /s
This writes a system to the floppy so that when you reboot it boots to the floppy rather than the C: drive.

Do things work now?
