Title: Will it work?
Post by: KJD on March 24, 2006, 12:18:28 AM
Hi all, I have a desktop with a DSL modem attached via USB port. I also have a laptop in a different room. If I simply connect the 2 computers with a cross-over ethernet cable will I have internet access on the laptop? Thanks

Only if you can set up Internet Connection Sharing.

I have windows xp on both computers. Is internet sharing a function of xp or is it set up some other way?

Just for future reference, you might prefer an Enthernet connection... USB can sometimes be a bit strange...
