Title: inaccurate mouse

We recently bought a computer at a garage sale, and had the drivers updated by a local computer outfit.  This computer is only meant for games for our kids so they'll stay off our computer.  Our problem is that the mouse works fine on the desktop, start menu, etc, until a game is played on the cd drive.  Then the mouse is inaccurate, meaning to activate an icon on one of the games, you have to aim it about 3 inches to the right, and hope you guessed right.  I've done all that I know to do on the control panel.  Any ideas where to start?  Thanks!

See if installing mouse driver helps.
