2 weeks ago all the sound files on my computer, CD's, Internet sites, .mp3 etc, started playing significantly faster than they should.
I am running Windows 2000, with an ac97 Intel soundcard.
I have never heard of this problem and can't find any info.
Any help will be much appreciated
Cheers Theo

What are you using for spyware/virus protection? Have you tried reinstalling the drivers?

I have tried reinstalling the sound card and have tried a microsoft patch, both of which havn't worked.
In terms of spyware and virus protection I am running Zone Alarm, which I loaded on at about the same time.

I used to see that with all the old Dell's when they were using Roxio with that AC'97 sound driver... the fix was to install a different driver... we found that Soundmax worked well. A temporary fix was to reinstall roxio.. but that didn't last long.

Zone alarm is a firewall which is not enough.
Try here to make sure your system is "clean"
