Title: Converting Internal SATA HD To External
Post by: kevin_cole on May 14, 2006, 01:52:16 AM
I recently bought a USB 2.0 SATA HD External Enclosure. I am going on a trip and want to take my internal secondary SATA HD and use it with my Notebook; I want to keep all my data on the drive. I put my HD in the enclosure and hooked it up to my notebook. Windows XP SP2 reconizes the mass storage device. But I cannot axcess the drive. Disk Management can see the drive, but it wont allow me to do anything other than "convert to basic disk", which I assumes will erase the drive. How can I use the drive without erasing the data?
