Title: access denied??

My harddrive crashed a few months ago and I had a new one installed. My IT guy told me I could transfer all the information off the old drive to the new one. At this point I'm trying to transfer a file from TurboTax and it keeps telling me access denied >:(. I'm so confused I really need this file. Also all of the pictures that are on this drive will not open. Any ideas on how to fix this??
