I have a question. I have 768 mb of PC800 RAMBUS. Which would be better. 2GIG of DDR 3200 or the 768 of RAMBUS
-
They won't fit in the same motherboard, so what is the remainder of the equation? Where did you come up with this question?
-
Yes I am aware of that. I was wondering which would get the better performance in a Socket 478 p2.2 with a FSB of 533. Would the extra 133 MHz make a difference?
-
What is the motherboard make and model? Again, the motherboard determines the type of memory used, and only one of those will be an option. That will make the decision a lot easier. ;)

i was just wondering because i was going to ebay for a mother board and was deciding which way to go. Ive got the rambus and hate not to use it if it would be better.

I don't know that it would be better, but since you already have it, it would save a few dollars. You know that it has to be installed in matched pairs?
It was always very expensive, and you might be able to sell it on eBay for someone who needs it which would pay for the other and maybe some change. Check the prices there. ;)

yes i have already and i think I could sell it for around 120$ total which would be enough for a new MB and memory alone. A computer store near me has 1 gig sticks of pc3200 fo 40 dollars after rebate, Ultra brand ;D

That sounds like a good plan.
