Title: Unable to surf internet
Post by: Hu on July 30, 2006, 02:20:18 AM
In normal circumstances after entering the internet address and hit enter - the
webpage would be displayed.

Recently, after entering the internet address and hit enter - the
webpage is not displayed. Using valid numeric addresses like for example only -165. 74. 21.984 does not display the webpage.

Have checked the internet connection and it is connected. Did a ping at the c prompt and it also works. (Using broadband prolink 9000w wireless and the 2nd pc have no problems, total pc(s) is 2).

Wondering what is wrong with the internet explorer and not displaying the webpage.

Thanks.

Are you sure you are free of malware? How so? WHat are you using?

What firewall, if any, is running?

How long has this been happening and what events preceeded this?

Hu, why not use the website's domain name, like the vast majority of people do, instead of using a numeric address?  Do you actually take time to look up the numeric address for a website and then use it?

Agree with Mark.  Sounds like a firewall problem, if you can still ping.
