Post by: blackxterra on August 03, 2006, 10:09:18 PM
Everytime I use IE and try to log on to a secure site I get this message. Everything works fine if I use Netscape. In netscape if I switch to IE it wont load. Im running Windows XP, IE 6. I tired Microsoft's web site for thier fix with going into the reg. and that did not do anything. Can anybody please help? Thanks in advance

tried the link, this is the message i get

Error on downloading ActiveScanAn error has occurred downloading Panda ActiveScan. Please repeat the process. If the error occurs again, restart your system and try againPossible causes of this error are:

Not allowing the application's ActiveX control to be downloaded.

Problems with the Internet connection.

The error could be due to a download error or an installation error due to lack of hard disk space, privileges etc.,...

I tried that and all of the other stuff you said. Still no good. I even tried restoring to another date when i knew it was working right and still did not help. Any other thoughts? Last time this happend I had to restore all of computer, trying not to do this again or pay 35 bucks Microsoft wants. Any other thoughts? Thanks :-? :-? :-?

So did you uninstall Norton and start something else, or you're just using no protection?

Good luck getting rid of Norton. There are specific instructions on how to remove the Norton Virus at the Symantec site.

Then read here again:

Spyware is one type of malware. Viruses, trojans, adware, etc. are others.

AVG is good, free and easy on system resources. You should also use AdAware and Spybot for good measure.

Personally it seems it would be a) cheaper and b) faster than the above mentioned plan. You could have been there by now.  ;)
