I tired Microsoft's web site for thier fix with going into the reg. and that did not do anything. Can anybody please help? Thanks in advance

tried the link, this is the message i get
Error on downloading ActiveScanAn error has occurred downloading Panda ActiveScan. Please repeat the process. If the error occurs again, restart your system and try againPossible causes of this error are:
Not allowing the application's ActiveX control to be downloaded.
Problems with the Internet connection.
The error could be due to a download error or an installation error due to lack of hard disk space, privileges etc.,...
I tried that and all of the other stuff you said. Still no good. I even tried restoring to another date when i knew it was working right and still did not help. Any other thoughts? Last time this happend I had to restore all of computer, trying not to do this again or pay 35 bucks Microsoft wants. Any other thoughts? Thanks :-? :-? :-?

What are you using for malware protection?
-
i had been using norton system works and kept it updated. Just this past week it ran out for the year. The problem started about a month ago.
-
So did you uninstall Norton and start something else, or you're just using no protection?

have not done anything yet. Think I should start thier and also ditch everything and start all over?
-
Good luck getting rid of Norton. There are specific instructions on how to remove the Norton Virus at the Symantec site.
Then read here again:

Is their really a "best" program out their? Norton I liked but it pulled down the speed a bit more then I liked. is their anything better out their? I will look more into the ones you list on that list. whats the difference betten spy ware and mal ware?
-
Spyware is one type of malware. Viruses, trojans, adware, etc. are others.
AVG is good, free and easy on system resources. You should also use AdAware and Spybot for good measure.
-
so you think i should trash it all and start over?
-
Personally it seems it would be a) cheaper and b) faster than the above mentioned plan. You could have been there by now. ;)
