hey,my graphics card is a
NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400
and i have a normal crappy heavy monitor
but........it's going out,so i am getting a
Megavision 17" MV173 monitor
its a flat screen,flat panel,and all that
so... i don't think i have the plug's for it in the back of my computer,
what do i need.?
-
I'm sure that monitor being a new one will have the proper cable to hook up to that vid card...
patio. 8-)

hey,i think your wrong,cause my friend has a flat screen,flat panel,and he has like 3 cords,going 2 everything,
and i don't have the back plug-in he does,my computer is crappy custom, and his computer is brand new
-
Yes, I also think it will connect to your existing video card, based on the specs I see at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16889205001. I believe this info: Input Video Compatibility: PC Input: Analog RGB, specifically, Analog RGB, indicates it uses a standard VGA connector.

If you're unsure, you need to verify whether the monitor uses a VGA connector or a DVI connector. Your video card works with VGA, not DVI.

hey, thanks, but that is not my new monitor
im getting it used
-
New or used is irrelevant. It's the specific model and the specifications for it that matter.
-

Look, you need to educate yourself a bit on this. Here's one Google find from a search on VGA vs. DVI:
LCD connections: analog vs. digital (http://ecoustics-cnet.com.com/4520-3174_7-5136369.html?part=ecoustics-cnet)
Again, get the exact specs on that monitor. VGA or DVI? The info in your last post does not answer the question. I believe the info I posted earlier does.

ok,i know i have,VGA,but if the monitor is DVI
what do i need 2 do,

He could take his own advise and call the Geek Squad. They will be happy to plug it in for him.

im laughing at my self,wow,LOL
well,my computer is a custom,so i don't know,LOL

Chances are that your monitor will not be DVI. For one, it is only $45, one of the cheapest monitors I've seen around. And, most monitors have both a VGA and DVI port installed in the back. I doubt you should have a problem.

I think they only charge $59.95 for that service.

The fact that it's a custom build does not matter. The main point is that it has a GeForce2 MX400 video card, according to your original post. Being an older card, it will surely have a VGA connector rather than a DVI. Again, if you're not sure about the difference in these two connectors, visit the link I provided in a previous post and look at the photos of the two types of connectors. It's very easy to tell the type simply by looking at it.
