Title: Win 3.11 Video Problem
Post by: magic_plank on September 01, 2006, 06:10:52 PM
I have a Viglen 486 laptop running DOS 6.22, OpenGem and Windows for workgroups 3.11.
Some of my Apps wouldn't work because I only had 16 colours. So I changed the resolution and colours in Windows Setup. Typical of me, I choose a setup that my LCD monitor, nor the monitor connected to it, supports. So, after the startup screen, everything goes black.
How can I undo this?

From the DOS prompt type setup and press Enter. You will be able to reset Windows to the default VGA display.

Life was a lot simpler then.  ;)

Yar, thank ye.
All sorted.

I think having a choice of three OS/Shells is great, its funny, I can start GEM in DOS, then started windows in GEM, then start GEM in Windows, until I run out of memory.
