Take a look in your Add or Remove Programs panel.  If WMP 10 is there, and it should be, then remove it.  That should take you back to the previous version.  If it takes you back to pre-WMP 9, then you'll have to download and install WMP 9.

No, it's not in the add or remove programs, and everytime i try to install wm9; it will say that i already have an newer version of it. Therefore it won't let me install the older version of it. :'(

This from another forum...

"In the Add/Remove Programs screen, click on Show
Updates.

Then WMP10 will show .. you can roll back
to v9"

Might not work but worth a try.

Good luck

And if not, then it's time to format and reinstall.  ;)

For the sake of others who may be in the same position re Wmp 10 please come back and tell us if the rollback instructions I gave you actually worked or did you achieve the rollback by some other method :-?.

Thanks

Microsoft makes you do strange things. Try to get an earlier version of Direct X, or WMP 11, in some cases.  ::)

Is there something different from your procedure, other than checking the box in Add or Remove Programs to Show Updates, that I suggested in reply#1?

Yes, the rollback instructions u gave me did work, i just uninstall the WMP  after checking the show updates. And then installed the WMP 9 setup that pops up after uninstallation.

I don't think so.  My purpose in questioning Chillinoutz about how he achieved the removal of Wmp10 was only to clarify his use of "Rollback theory".. and ensure that the instructions actually worked.
