Title: Thermal pad

My new motherboard has just arrived  :)  and im am concerned about the thermal interface material. From what ive read you either need thermal greese or a pad, I am not sure wether my processor came with a thermal pad/what it looks like. On the bottom of the processor there is a little gray square that is soft, slighty spongey to the touch. Surely this has to be a thermal pad?

Yes it is,

but you can Buy Better Stuff if you Really want to

Its Called Arctic Silver

Any good Elcetroics shop would have it

Just remember to use one or the other - never both.  ;)
