Title: Drive letters wrong, not my fault!
Post by: MusicGeek on September 11, 2006, 12:18:44 AM
Am running XP on an old 500 Compaq. Administrator tools says
Win can't change drive letters. But when I put new install on clean h/d,
the main drive became "F", and secondary drive became "C". Is there
any way to fix this in the registry or DOS?? Thanx.

Thanks. Patio, I'm simply trying to get my
hard drive letter paths back to normal. They are very much off.

Street, Thanks. I tried to correct it in Management, but
it would not allow me to switch things around. The largest
hard drive (20G) is now "F", the smallest (815MB) is "C",
and the Rom & DVD drives are "D" and "E". My external
drive is correct, "G".

Figured this was something to correct in the registry, or DOS,
or BIOS. Thanks for all your help, I'm sure one of you experts
can fix this, IF it can be fixed.   ;D
