Title: Reformatting for Fresh Install
Post by: Reyz on September 16, 2006, 01:56:49 PM
I'm trying to reformat harddrives for a fresh install of Windows XP. Currently, it is installed on both of them, and will run on my 2nd harddrive for a while after it starts, then it will switch back to the first one and stay on it. Everytime I try to reformat both of them, it always picks the 2nd harddrive because it recognizes both of the drives as C:\. When I'm on the first harddrive, it recognizes this drive as E:\, but when I go to format the C:\ drive it ends up thinking that the E:\ drive is the C:\ drive. They're not set up in Raid either. Please help, thanks.

I would remove the secondary HDD, use XP CD to format and install  XP to the primary drive and after all is running properly re-introduce the secondary HDD and format under Disk Management...
